Vivian Fang, Honeywell Professor of Accounting, University of Minnesota
Dr. Vivian Fang is the Honeywell Professor of Accounting at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Professor Fang's recent research has studied managerial myopia, financial fraud, social media disclosure, and cryptocurrencies. Her work has been published in leading business journals, widely cited, and featured in various media outlets, including Bloomberg, CNBC, Economist, Financial Times, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, NPR, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal. Professor Fang has won a number of national and international research awards for her work and now serves on three editorial boards. In 2020, Financial Times listed one of her papers among the top 100 business school studies with social impact. Professor Fang has presented her work at over 100 academic institutions and conferences and taught at several institutions. She now teaches accounting classes and an MBA course on Cryptocurrency and Blockchain at Carlson. Professor Fang has given lectures and talks on crypto topics at for-profit and nonprofit organizations and her comments on crypto-related issues frequently appear on local and national media. Prior to pursuing an academic career, Professor Fang worked as a tax consultant for Deloitte Tax LLP. She was a registered CPA and a CGA (Canada) and also passed all three levels of the CFA exams.
